MMI’s work in South Central India has been in the villages of Andhra Pradesh, India’s fourth largest state. Telugu is the official language of the state spoken by 83% of the population and only 9% of the people are Christian. In this region, MMI works in partnership with India Village Ministries, led by Pastor Suresh Vemulapalli and his wife Roja. Bible TrainingMMI’s partnership with India Village Ministries (IVM) started with providing curriculum to India Village Bible College (IVBC)to equip indigenous workers to be church planters and ministers. Through the college, many village Pastors are equipped with knowledge to spread the Gospel in the towns and rural areas of South Central India. Church PlantingIndia Village Ministries holds major evangelistic campaigns throughout the year where hundreds hear the Gospel and some come to faith in Christ. Trained leaders and Pastors supported by MMI are reaching out weekly to newly formed congregations, preaching, teaching, and caring for new converts. This ensures that those who come to faith through evangelism grow in faith through discipleship. Through the generosity of Canadian donors, about five church buildings have been built in the last four years. The church buildings are helping to host the new growing congregations, and from which they can reach out to their communities. Many current Gospel outreach projects involve access to Bibles, New Testament, and Gospel brochures. You can donate toward this type of literature that will bring someone closer to God for eternity. Community DevelopmentAs part of a holistic approach, MMI has partnered with India Village Ministries to sponsor community programs such as the Sewing Training Centre for Women. Women who go through the training, leave the program with a valuable skill and are given a sewing machine to get them started in business or making clothes that saves money for their families. MMI has also contributed to the India Village Ministries Children’s Home and opportunities exist to sponsor a child cared for through this ministry.
