Evangelism and Church PlantingResponding to Jesus' command to "go and make disciples" starts with evangelism Manna Ministries International regularly holds evangelistic campaigns in all its regions. The preaching, film, and public worship events are often the first encounter people have with the Gospel message. Workers distribute Bibles, tracts, films, and teaching materials at every campaign. MMI's regular evangelism has led to many commitments of faith in Jesus, confirmed by baptism, and is the basis for MMI's church planting ministry. As part of long term support for new church plants in all its regions, MMI provides support for Pastors of newly planted churches. This ensures indigenous leadership of churches and allows them to concentrate on nurturing new believers. A Pastor with full support reaches whole communities through evangelism, teaching, and prayer. MMI also coordinates a church building program to house growing congregations. Depending on the region, the cost of a church building is between $3000 - $4500. Donors provide the funds to purchase building materials, and short-term missions teams work with local Christians to construct new church buildings. Bible TrainingMMI has established Bible Colleges and provided curriculum for existing Bible Training Programs to ensure Biblical training for leaders of churches and Biblical discipleship for new believers. Starting in 2011, MMI will provide Bible training in partnership with BILD international, a church based training program that trains church leaders to provide Biblical teaching and guidance in their communities. Timothy ProgramMMI’s Timothy program provides financial support for Pastors-in-Training. Based on the model of Timothy learning from Paul in the New Testament, these disciples team up with mature Pastors, helping them with ministry and learning from them. This type of program ensures there are indigenous leaders ready to step into ministry as opportunities arise in their communities. Community Outreach and Emergency ReliefMMI responds to the community needs identified in each region. MMI workers have held medical clinics, run children’s Daily Vacation Bible Schools, provided sexual integrity education, and run feeding programs as needs are identified in various communities. MMI has opened a children's home in the Phillipines and partnered with India Village Ministries (IVM) in South Central India to sponsor a Sewing Training Center for local women and MMI supporters can sponsor children at IVM's children's home. |
